Elviria has been a perrenial fave on the coast for a while.
Sandy beaches, nice urbs and a cute commercial centre acting as a hub and the iconic Don Carlos hotel and Nikki beach.
Spanish food can be notoriously heavy on the frying so the local eco market in Elviria is the perfect antidote. Fresh and local. Bio and natural, it´s a big boost to Marbella in general.
It´s located in a lovely shaded area sheltered by pines we find a friendly market with just the right amount of stalls that you can find everything you need without being overwhelmed with choice.
Available are bio fruits, veg, oils, coffee, bakery, cheeses, beauty products and more - a truly diverse selection, all natural and all locally sourced.
The market forms part of the Guadalhorce Ecológico cooperative — a farmer-led initiative that began in the Guadalhorce Valley to shorten the distance between grower and consumer.
Behind the scenes, most of the vendors drive in from small fincas around Coín, Álora, and Cártama before dawn, setting up their wooden crates and weighing scales under canvas tents. Each producer is certified under Andalusia’s organic standards, and many have been part of the network for over a decade.
There’s an easy camaraderie here: farmers exchange seedlings, swap recipes, and greet locals by name.
Elviria also has plenty of lovely resturants, cafes and some famous golf courses, chiringuitos and beach clubs if you want to make a day of it.
